Heuristic solution models for the single item, uncapacitated lot-sizing problems

Abstract

Single item, deterministic, periodic review, uncapacitated production/inventory models are especially important because of their applications in material requirements planning (MRP) systems. In this thesis, the relevant literature is reviewed and the performance of EOQl, E0Q2, POQ, LUC, PPB, SM and GMC heuristic models are compared and discussed in the context of experimentation.
