dc.description.abstract | This thesis analyses the current relation between art and audience, focusing on the collective creativity in social media and the function of audience collaboration in the art zone. Attempting to define the act of artistic participation in social media and relocate it in contemporary art, I examine how collaboration in the development of an artwork becomes possible. This thesis accompanies exhibited artwork, which consists of a three-dimensional installation that procures generation of various stories by the rearranging of the flow of printed images of Instagram posts. I also aim to achieve a relational aesthetic by considering those “Instagram friends” as coworkers of a collaborative work, which further undergoes a transformation through each viewer-participant’s intervention in the gallery setting. Therefore, I assert that we have already been collaborating by creating and sharing through social media, and thus shaping the form of communication in the 21st century. | en_US |
