Jale Inan's works at the Perge-Side archeological sites take up an important place in the history of archeology in Turkey. The Heracles statue that was pieced together 9 years ago may be considered as the result of Inan's most long-winded study along with journalist Ozgen Acar. When Acar concluded that the the statue he had seen in New York by chance in 1990 was actually the missing piece of one in Perge, he shared his findings with the press. In light of these developments, Inan used photo assembly and other various methods to publish papers that prove Acar's case. The Weary Heracles statue, that was reunited with its half 31 years after it was first excavate, sets a very important precedent for preservation of culture and heritage not only for Turkey but for all countries in the world.
