dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.en_US

dc.description.abstractBu tarih araştırmasında hayatı boyunca mimarlık, girişimcilik, yöneticilik, gazetecilik gibi çeşitli alanlarda çalışmış ve başarılara imza atmış Tayyar çimen’in hayatı ele alınacaktır. Halen mimarlık ve gazetecilik hayatını sürdürmekle birlikte, Türkiye’nin önde gelen tuz fabrikalarından Salina Tuz Fabrikası’nın kurmasıyla bilinen Cihan-Kur Aş’ye can verenlerden olması gibi varlığını devam ettiren başarıları vardır. Memleketi olan Cihanbeyli’ye katkıları ve bağlılığıyla da dikkat çeken çimen’in hayatı bu çerçevede röportaj, kitap, gazete gibi kaynaklardan da faydalanılarak aktarılacaktır.en_US
dc.description.abstractIn this history research, life of Tayyar çimen, who worked and gained accomplishments in areas such as architecture, entrepreneurship, management, journalism throughout his life, will be discussed. Besides his continuing careers in journalism and architecture, he has achievements that sustains its presence like Salina Salt Factory that is established by Cihan-Kur A.ş. which çimen is one of the very important life givers of. He has remarkable commitment and contribution to his hometown: Cihanbeyli and within this framework his life will be introduced using resources such as interview, book, newspaper.en_US
