dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST209) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.en_US

dc.description.abstractAnadolu Koleji, ABCFM tarafından 1886 da Merzifon, Türkiye'de kurulmuştur. Bu kağıt, 1914-24 arasındaki yıllarda ki zorlukları aşma çabalarını baz alarak, bu okuldaki öğrencilerin ve kolej fakültesindeki sorunların etnik ve dinsel değişiklikerden dolayı olup olmadığından bahsediyor. Ayrıca, Yunanistan'ın Selanik kentine taşınmasını, Türkiye ile Yunanistan arası 1923 yılındaki nüfus değişimini daha detaylı anlatarak bahsediyor.en_US
dc.description.abstractAnatolia College was founded in 1886 in Merzifon, Turkey by ABCFM. Focusing on the steps taken by the College to survive through 1914-24, this paper discusses the hardships faced by the students and the faculty of the College and whether these problems were based on ethnic and religious differences or not. Furthermore, its move to Thessaloniki, Greece will be discussed by highlighting the population exchange between Turkey and Greece in 1923.en_US
