dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.

dc.description.abstract1965’te kurulan Türkiye Öğretmenler Sendikası (TÖS) ve Türkiye İlkokul Öğretmenleri Sendikası (İLKSEN)’in 1968’de düzenlediği Eğitim Şûrası ve 1969 Eğitim Yürüyüşü’nün devamı niteliğinde, 15 Aralık 1969 tarihinde “Büyük” Öğretmen Boykotu düzenlenmiştir. Dört gün boyunca devam eden bu boykota, Türkiye’nin birçok şehrinden yaklaşık 109.000 öğretmen katılmıştır. Bu boykotla birlikte öğretmenler kendi taleplerini hükümete duyurmuşlardır; ancak bu talepler yerine getirilmemiştir.
dc.description.abstractAfter 1968 Education Council and 1969 Education March, Teachers’ Boycott was organized in 15 December 1969 by Teachers’ Organization of Turkey (TOT) and Primary School Teachers’ Organization of Turkey, which are founded in 1965. Boycott lasted for four days and 109.000 teachers from various cities in Turkey attended this boycott. With this boycott, teachers announced their demands to the government. However, these demands were not executed.
