dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.

dc.description.abstractBu araştırma, Boğaziçi Üniversitesi Endüstri Mühendisliği Bölümünün kuruluş amacını, tarihsel evrimini, Türkiye özelindeki akademik ve endüstriyel katkılarını bölümün alanlarında fark yaratan mezunları üzerinden inceleyecektir. Boğaziçi Üniversitesi Endüstri Mühendisliği Bölümünün geçmişi, kuruluş döneminden günümüze olan değişimi, bölümün benimsediği eğitim ekolü, diğer üniversitelerle olan farkları ve seçili mezunların kariyerleri genel hatlarıyla irdelenecektir. Bu çalışma, Boğaziçi Üniversitesi Endüstri Mühendisliği Bölümünün Türkiye genelindeki rolünü aydınlatmayı ve var olan bilgi eksikliğini gidermeyi hedeflemektedir.
dc.description.abstractThis research will examine the founding purpose of the Department of Industrial Engineering at Boğaziçi University, its historical evolution, and its academic and industrial contributions in Turkey through graduates of the department who have made a difference in their respective fields. It will examine the history of the Department of Industrial Engineering at Boğaziçi University in various stages, how it changed from its inception to the present, the school of education adopted by the department, its differences with other universities, and the careers of selected graduates. This study aims to illuminate the role of the Department of Industrial Engineering at Boğaziçi University in Turkey in general and to fill the existing gap in knowledge.
