Designing a computerized human resources information system

Abstract

The aim of this study is to develop a new human resources (personnel) information system for the faculty of Political Sciences of Ankara University. Present system is analyned to find the problems and defaults by conducting interviews with the personnel and analysing the? documents. Then, autom£-ition of the personnel activities is decided as the? major objective and a'data base management system approach is consider-ed as a solution to s y s t e m ’s problems- The major part of the study involves developing an application softw^ire comprised of dBASE III Plus programs. A satisfactory result is achieved after testing of the system Although the system has been designed for the particular needs of the faculty and the personne?! manageer, the conceptSs and methodology could be used as a model in development of such personnel systems for the uni vers i t i es.
