dc.description.abstract | This thesis analyzes several theoretical approaches in Turkish archaeology throughout its history. Starting from the late nineteenth century, each period will be examined with an emphasis on its certain historical, political or social developments that are reflected in contemporary archaeological interpretations. The influence of various factors on Turkish archaeology such as the German school, nationalism, Turkish History Thesis, Sun-Language Theory, Anatolianism, Humanism, the Braidwoods, and the Keban Dam Project will be discussed in detail. | en_US |
