dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.en_US

dc.description.abstractBu makale, feminizmin tanımının yapılarak dalgaları hakkında bilgi verilmesini; bunların Türkiye’de feminizm olgusunun oluşmasına ne şekilde etki ettiğini anlatmayı amaçlar. İkinci dalga feminizmin Ankara’daki kadın hareketlerine öncülüğü, hem bu hareketler hem de bu hareketlerin gelişiminde rol oynayan siyasi olaylar hakkında bilgiler verir. Makale; Ankara’da ikinci dalga feminizm hareketlerinin etkisiyle oluşan okuma gruplarını tanıtıp vizyonlarını anlatarak bu grupların kolektif kadın örgütlenmelerine nasıl evrildiğini; örgütlenmelerin Ankara’da nasıl başladığını, aşamalarını ve bu örgütlenmelerin meşrulaştırılmasını ele alır. Makalenin sonuç kısmını; Ankara’nın günümüz feminist aktivizmindeki konumu, Kadın Dayanışma Vakfı’nın kuruluş yıllarındaki kadın organizasyonlarının şu anki feminizm anlayışına etkisi; Kadın Dayanışma Vakfı’nın tanıtımı ve faaliyetleri oluşturur.en_US
dc.description.abstractThis article aims to define feminism and give information about its waves; It aims to explain how these affect the formation of feminism phenomenon in Turkey. The pioneering of the second wave feminism to the women's movements in Ankara gives information about both these movements and the political events that played a role in the development of these movements. Article; By introducing the reading groups formed under the influence of the second wave feminism movements in Ankara and explaining their visions, how these groups evolved into collective women's organizations; It deals with how the organizations started in Ankara, their stages and the legitimation of these organizations. The conclusion part of the article; Ankara's position in today's feminist activism, the impact of women's organizations in the founding years of the Women's Solidarity Foundation on the current understanding of feminism; It creates the promotion and activities of the Women's Solidarity Foundation.en_US
