Abstract

In this study, the effects of automation trends on the occupation groups are studied. Routine task index of occupations in Turkey are calculated and female labor force participation as well as female to male ratios in these occupations are analyzed. Further, the ability of Turkish female workers in adapting themselves to changing nature of occupations is explored by summary statistics from PIAAC survey results. We find that the occupation groups that are susceptible to automation are occupied by female workers.
