dc.description.abstractÂşık (Bard) Fatma Oflaz was born and raised in Sivas, also known as the "Âşıklar Yatağı" because of the hundreds of âşık (bards) who prospered there. She contributed to this tradition with dozens of poems, but the research on her life is limited. This article closely examines Fatma Oflaz's childhood and her life as an âşık (bard) and emphasizes her place as a female âşık (bard) in this tradition, where men continue to dominate. In addition, it aims to end the contradictions about her story of drinking “bade” and adopting the pseudonym "Derdimend" by examining different statements. As a result, inferences were made about the injustices toward female folk poets in Turkey based on the information obtained about Derdimend's âşık (bard) life.
