Abstract
The myth of Ossian which was made by the Gaehc poet James Macpherson, had had a great influence on the romantic nationalist movements of 19 th and 20 th century. The nationalist movement in the Ottoman Empire was commonly orientated by Ziya Gökalp in the first quarter of 20 th century, found a poetic expression in the works of young poets who were called "Five Syllabists". The aim of this article is to discuss if there would be an indirect influence of Ossianism on Five Syllibists or not.
