From the 19th century to the mid-20th century, especially after the Ottoman loss of the Balkans, Anatolia and Balkans had faced massive amounts of migration. The Obligatory Population Exchange was probably the most famous one of these migration movements. Population Exchanges had affected demographic, cultural and economic aspects of many places. Yaylacık is one of these. Yaylacık where mostly immigrants from another Yaylacık in Thessaloniki live, is a town in Buca. The traces of the immigration and the culture of Thessaloniki can still be seen in Yaylacık even Today.en_US
