Abstract
This article analyses the magazine pages on the Turkish daily newspaper Posta in order to find out the changes in transformation of gossips from oral culture to written culture. Theories of folklore and popular culture are applied to the excerpts from one of the best selling Turkish newspaper. The continuity between oral and written culture, the differences between news and gossip, the myths and role models in the magazine news are among the issues revealed and discussed.
