dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.en_US

dc.description.abstractHatayspor Futbol Kulübü; 1967 yılında bölgede süregelen spor kulüpleri olan Kurtuluşspor, Esnafspor ve Reyhanlı Gençlikspor’un kurucu üyeler tarafından tek bir çatı altında toplanmasıyla kurulmuştur. Birçok farklı kültürü içinde barındıran Hatay ilinde, müsabakalarla bölge halkını ortak bir amaç altında toplamayı hedefleyerek kurulan kulüp, hedeflerinin yönetilmesi konusunda yönlendirilmeye ihtiyaç duyabilecek bölge gençlerinin geleceklerini şekillendirmede onlara bir vizyon katabilmeyi kuruluş amacı edinmiştir. Bu doğrultuda bölge gençleri, kulübe katılmaları yönünde teşvik edilerek motivasyon eksikliklerinin üstesinden gelme konusunda olgunlaşırken çevre illeri ile yapılan müsabakalar ve kulübün zamanla edindiği sportif başarı, bölge halkını birleştirmeyi ve ortak bir “spor-dayanışma” kültürü oluşturmayı sağlamıştır.en_US
dc.description.abstractHatayspor Football Club was established in 1967 by its founding members by bringing the ongoing sport clubs - which are Kurtuluşspor, Esnafspor and Reyhanlı Gençlikspor - under the same roof. In the province of Hatay, which hosts many different cultures, the club which was established with the aim of gathering the local community under a common purpose by organizing football competitions, made its founding purpose to help the local youth -who might need to be guided to manage their goals- to create a vision for them to organize their future. Accordingly, while the local youth was encouraged to join to the club in order to maturate in overcoming their lack of motivation, the ongoing competition between the club and the nearby cities and the sports success of the club over time, managed to create a common “sport-solidarity” culture and to gather the local community to support the club.en_US
