dc.description.abstract"The Eskiya", which was written and directed by Yavuz Turgul in 1996 puts the bandits model of the folk narrations into İstanbul, one of the modern metropolises. In this article, on the sample of "The Eskiya", "noble bandits" concept which was used by Eric J. Hobsbawn and the features of the structure of bandit stories which was determined by Berna Moran will be disscussed. Moreover this study aims to determine if the bandit character in the film overlaps with the bandit in the folk tradition or not and the transformation of the character.en_US
