Tongue twisters one by one: Notes on ridicule, irony and ordinariness

Abstract

The notion of "people" generally reminds us of the concept of "ordinariness". "People" build their lives on a chain of habits, and ordinariness is the name of this chain. However, the rings of the chain are not identical. Tongue twisters (tekerleme), as a people's handmade, link the ordinariness with the ridiculous and the ironic. By means of this link, our chain's refence changes and it acquires new functions.
