Abstract
This study concentrates on the folklore of cultural groups having at least one factor in common in modern city life. Focusing on the language created by teenagers who are students of private high schools in Ankara, this paper analyzes how the social-economic status of their families influences this language. The sample group is selected from students aged between 16-18, who come from families with high incomes and attend the private high schools of "ODTÜ, Tevfik Fikret, Bilkent, TED and Büyük Kolej". Based on the statements of the teenagers in this sample group, this study looks into their cultural codes, perceptions and assessments.
