1996 ve 1997 yılları arasında başörtüsü yasağının yazılı medyadaki tutumunun incelenmesi: Cumhuriyet gazetesi örneği

Türkiye yazılı basınında uzun soluklu ve önemli bir yere sahip olan Cumhuriyet Gazetesi özellikle 1996 ve 1997 yılları arasında başörtüsü yasağı ile ilgili yazılı medyada yayımladığı haberleriyle önemli bir yer tutmuştur. Özellikle 1997 yılında ülkede yaşanan post-modern darbe, 1987 yasağından beri süregelen başörtüsü meselesini tekrar alevlendirmiştir. Bu yıllar göz önünde bulundurulduğunda başörtüsü yasağı toplum, siyaset ve medya üçgeninde önemli sonuçlar doğurmuştur. Başörtüsü bazı kesimlerce laiklik karşıtı bir durum olarak görülmüş ve buna karşı çıkılmıştır. Aynı zamanda, başka bir görüş ise bu konuyu hak ve özgürlükler çerçevesinde değerlendirmiş ve başörtüsünün politik bir amaca bağlı kalmayan; dini bir uygulama olduğunu savunmuştur. Bu araştırmada, belirtilen yıllarda başörtüsü yasağı bu çerçevede incelenecek olup farklı görüşler Cumhuriyet Gazetesi üzerinden araştırılacaktır.

In the research, it is aimed to examine the attitude of the written media with the news they published in these years along with the example of Cumhuriyet Newspaper, which is one of the newspapers that have an important place in the Turkish written media, based on the evaluation of the history of the headscarf ban in the general framework.
