dc.description.abstract | This thesis deals with the ideas of Dean Josiah Tucker, especially in economic and political terms. The historical context of his thought is eighteenth-century Britain. A study of Tucker’s works reveal that he wrote extensively on current issues. Regarding economic matters, his ideas display a modified mercantilistic view, politically he is a conservative and he approaches the main religious debates of the time with a moderate attitude. Although he argued for nothing very original. Tucker still deserves attention as the main debates of eighteenth-century Britain are dealt with in his works. | en_US |
