dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.

dc.description.abstractBu araştırmanın amacı, Bolşevik Devrimi’nden kaçan Rusların İstanbul’a yerleşmesini anlatmak ve yerleştikten sonra İstanbul’daki kültürel yaşam üzerinde nasıl bir etki yarattıklarını ve nasıl katkı sağladıklarını incelemektir. Makalede mercek altına alınan asıl mekan, İstanbul’a yerleşen Beyaz Ruslar tarafından açılmış Rejans Restoran ya da şimdiki adıyla 1924 İstanbul’dur. Rusların İstanbul’a gelişleri, Rejans Restoran’ın açılması, günümüze kadar geçirdiği değişiklikler, konsepti ve menüsü makalenin kapsamına alınmıştır.
dc.description.abstractThe main aim of this Project is to explain and evaluate the impacts and the contributions made by Russians who escaped from the revolution and started living in İstanbul on İstanbul’s cultural life. In this Project, we specifically focused on the Rejans Restaurant (with its current name 1924 İstanbul), which was opened by the Russians in 1924. This project contains the first years of the Russians in İstanbul, the opening of the Rejans Restaurant and the changes it has gone through over the years, the concept of this restaurant and its menu.
