Item Open Access Analysis of the complex light field generated by a deflectable mirror array device(SPIE, 2006) Ulusoy, Erdem; Onural, Levent; Özaktaş, Haldun M.An exact analysis of the scalar coherent monochromatic light field produced by a deflectable mirror array device is presented. The three-dimensional light field is related to the tilt angles of the mirrors. The first Rayleigh-Sommerfeld diffraction formula is used to model the diffraction. The analysis is carried out based on the assumption that the mirrors can be tilted with continuously varying angles, so the field produced by a finite (discrete) set of possible tilt angles is included as a special case.Item Open Access High-speed resonant-cavity-enhanced Schottky photodiodes(IEEE, 1998) Ata, Erhan P.; Bıyıklı, Necmi; Demirel, Ekrem; Özbay, Ekmel; Gökkavas, M.; Onat, B.; Ünlü, M. S.; Tuttle, G.The top-illuminated Schottky photodiodes were fabricated by a microwave-compatible monolithic microfabrication process. Fabrication started with formation of ohmic contacts to n+ layers. Mesa isolation was followed by a Ti-Au interconnect metallization. Following this, a semitransparent Au Schottky metal and a silicon nitride layer was deposited. Finally, a thick Ti-Au layer was deposited to form an air bridge connection between the interconnect and the Schottky metal. The optical properties of the photodiodes were simulated using a transfer matrix method.Item Open Access Strong enhancement of spontaneous emission in hydrogenated amorphous silicon nitride coupled-microcavity structures(IEEE, 2001) Bayındır, Mehmet; Tanrıseven, Selim; Aydınlı, Atilla; Özbay, EkmelThe modification of spontaneous emission from the hydrogenated amorphous silicon nitride layers in a coupled-microcavity (CMC) structure was investigated. The CMC structure was composed of alternating silicon-oxide and silicon-nitride multilayers. The results showed that the strong enhancement of spontaneous emisssion can be achieved throughout the cavity band.
