Item Open Access A Cinematic Journey: Tunc Okan's The Bus (Otobus) and the 'Leaving Home' Theme(2005) Erginci, E.Cinema, which is one of the most popular branch of arts nowadays, has a firm relation with literature. Literary works have connections with oral works. In "Cinema tales" it is quite interesting to find out some motives and patterns, which are found in all folk tales. Movie director Tunc Okan's Otobus (The Bus) has a screenplay which is based on a journey, and this journey theme is essential in all folk tales. This essay is focusing on the reasons of the usage of journey in movies in connection with folk tales.Item Open Access “Kolsuz Hanım” üzerine yazılı kültür ve metinlerarası ilişkiler bağlamında bir çalışma(Geleneksel Yayıncılık, 2009) Korkmaz, Nurseli GamzeZiya Gökalp’ın Küçük Mecmûa’da yayımladığı masallar, edebiyat araştırmacıları tarafından “halk masalı” olarak adlandırılmaktadır. Oysa, bu masallar sözlü kültür ortamından yazılı kültür ortamına aktarılırken kimi değişikliklere uğramış ve sözlü özelliklerini belirli ölçülerde kaybetmiş olabilir. Dolayısıyla, bu metinlerin “halk masalı” şeklinde adlandırılması bazı sorunları da beraberinde getirecektir. Bu çalışmada, Ziya Gökalp’ın adı geçen mecmuada yayımlanan “Kolsuz Hanım” başlıklı masalı ve bu metne kaynaklık eden “Merd-i Sâlih” ve “Helvacı Güzeli” adlı halk masalları birlikte incelenerek masalın yazılı ortama geçerken sözlü kültürden ne ölçüde uzaklaştığı sorgulanmıştır. Ek olarak, Ziya Gökalp’ın masallar üzerinde yaptığı değişikliklerin sosyolojik ve ideolojik yönleri üzerinde durulmuş, yazarın kurguda yaptığı değişikliklerin amaçları tartışılmıştır. Bunun yanısıra, masal metnine kaynaklık eden halk masalları ile Gökalp’ın metni arasındaki metinlerarası ilişkiler incelenmiş, böylece, sözlü kültürden yazılı kültüre aktarılan bu tür metinlerin değerlendirilmesinde farklı bir bakış açısı geliştirmek hedeflenmiştir. Sonuçta ise, “halk masalı” şeklindeki bir adlandırmanın yanlış olacağı üzerinde durulmuş, Ong’un “sanat destanı” tanımlamasından yola çıkarak bu tür masalların “sanat masalı” şeklinde adlandırılabileceği öne sürülmüştür.Item Open Access Old Wines in the "New Bottles": Ekmek Teknesi, a series telling folk tales(2005) Demirkol, N.This article aims to analyze the usage of oral culture in the era of electronic mass communication. Water J. Ong's "primary oral culture" and "secondary oral culture" terms was the basis of this study. In this frame a television series, called Ekmek Teknesi which is chosen as a representative of secondary oral culture, characteristics and functions of folk tales and storyteller are compared and contrasted. The result of this comparison lead us to the conclusion that not only outstanding character of the series Heredot Cevdet the storyteller but the series, itself, has the characteristics and functions of a folk tale similar to the ones in the primary oral culture. This article claims that Turkish society which has still got most of the characteristics of a primary oral culture society and which has not exactly adapted to the urban life yet, need a story teller to remind its "old traditions". As a result, one of the products of secondary oral literature, Ekmek Teknesi, meets this need of the society.
