Item Open Access Boundary control of some infinite dimensional systems(IFAC, 2005) Morgül, ÖmerWe will consider the feedback stabilization of a class of infinite dimensional systems by using boundary control, i.e. control inputs are applied at the boundaries of such systems. Such systems usually possess an internal energy, and along their solutions a conservation of energy equation hold. By utilizing this relation, we will prove various stability results. We will also give an example on the application of the proposed technique to some well known passive systems. We will also present some simulation results.Item Open Access On feedback stabilization of neutral time delay systems with infinitely many unstable poles(Elsevier B.V., 2018) Gumussoy, S.; Özbay, HitayIt is shown that strictly proper neutral time delay systems having at least one asymptotic pole chain converging to a vertical line Re(s) = σ > 0 cannot be stabilized by a proper controller. A special coprime factorization can be obtained for such systems with infinitely many unstable poles, provided they are bi-proper (i.e. proper, but not strictly proper). From this factorization, stabilizing feedback controllers are obtained. Necessarily, all stabilizing controllers for this type of plants are also bi-proper.
