Mithat Işık harekatta aktif rol almış bir asker, bir komando olarak Türk askerlerinin seferberliği ve özverisi konusunda bir ayna görevi görüyor. Makale, sonrasında kendisinin harekât öncesi kişisel izlenimlerinin üzerinden geçiyor ve harekât kararı sonrasında çatışma içinde aldığı aktif role büyüteç tutuyor. Aynı zamanda, yine bir askerin gözünden adada bir gerilim olacağına dair öngörüler Kıbrıs sorununa başka bir boyuttan bakma fırsatı sunuyor.

This article examines the situation on the island before and after the operation through Mithat Isik's personal comments in his interviews and writings. Firstly, it draws the historical and geographical importance of Cyprus from Mithat Isik's perspective. As a soldier and commando who took an active role in the operation, Mithat Isik serves as a mirror for the mobilization and self-sacrifice of the Turkish soldiers. The article then goes through his personal impressions of the pre-operation period and his active role in the conflict after the decision to take action. At the same time, the predictions of tension on the island, again through the eyes of a soldier, offer an opportunity to look at the Cyprus problem from a different perspective.
