dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.

dc.description.abstractSıdıka Özdil, 01 Ocak 1960 yılında, Ankara Cebeci'de dünyaya geldi. 1966- 1971 yılı arasında ilk öğretimini bitirdi.1971- 1980 yıllarında Ankara Devlet Konservatuarı'nda Piyano ve Kompozisyon bölümünde eğitimini tamamladı. Hacettepe Üniversitesi'nde, 1982 yılında Orkestra Şefliği yüksek lisansını, 1983 yılında ise Kompozisyon yüksek lisansını tamamladı. 1985 yılında Kraliyet Müzik Akademisi'nde eğitimine devam etti. Ülkesine döndükten sonra Antalya'da Oda Orkestrası'nı kurdu. 2003 yılında ise Orkestra Modern'in kurulmasında yer aldı daha sonra da şef yardımcısı olarak çalışmalarına devam etti. 2013 yılında Kültür Bakanlığı'ndan emekliliğe ayrıldı. Günümüzde de Hacettepe Üniversitesi Kompozisyon bölümünde eğitim görevlisi olarak çalışmalarını devam ettirmektedir.
dc.description.abstractSıdıka Özdil was born on January 01, 1960, in Ankara Cebeci. She completed his primary education between 1966 and 1971. She completed his education in the Piano and Composition department of Ankara State Conservatory between 1980 and 1980. She received his master's degree in Orchestral Conducting at Hacettepe University in 1982 and her postgraduate in Composition in 1983. She continued her education at the Royal Academy of Music in 1985. After returning to her country, she established the Chamber Orchestra in Antalya. She took part in the establishment of Orchestra Modern in 2003 and then continued his work as an assistant conductor. She retired from the Ministry of Culture in 2013. Today, she continues her studies as an instructor at Hacettepe University Composition department.
