In this project, the aerial expedition between İstanbul-Alexandria (Egypt) in the year 1914 will be examined through the flight of Mehmet Fethi who is one of the main characters in this voyage. This flight was accomplished over a geography of the Middle-East, where even today many states have conflicting interests. The flight is the first inter-continental flight spanning over Middle-East in early 20th century, when foreign powers were trying to stirrup the region with the aim to destroy the Ottoman Empire. The project aims to promote the first intercontinental flight in this disquiet geography. The story of expedition which was staged with the purpose of lightening the saddening burden of the loss of Balkan Wars and to leave an impression that the Ottoman State is still strong will also illuminate the internal and international politics of the period.en_US
