1890`larda kendi topraklarından koparılıp köle olarak Amerika’ya götürülen Afrikalıların yaşadıkları acıları ve vatan özlemlerini dile getirmek amacıyla ortaya koydukları müzik türü olan Caz müzik geçmişten günümüze çeşitli gelişmelere uğramıştır. 1920’li yıllarda Türkiye’nin caz müziğiyle tanışma süreci Ermeni, Rum ve Belaruslu sanatçıların sayesinde başlamıştır. Caz müziğin gelişmesinde öncülük eden birçok ünlü ve büyük caz müzisyenler tarafından Türkiye’ye tanıtılması ile yeni müzik gruplarının kurulmasına vesile olmuştur ve böylece cazın Türkiye’deki serüveni ve aynı zamanda gelişimi başlamıştır.

This research explores the depths of the Turkish Jazz music with the help of and through the Jazz Club Nardis and its owners Zuhal and önder Foçan who happen to be a musician themselves and have been in the industry since 1975. önder Foçan being the musician and not only making songs but also giving seminars helped the Turkish Jazz music develop and his wife Zuhal Foçan being the editör of the Jazz Magazine for many years kept record of what have happened to the music over time, not letting it to be forgotten. This reseach also centers Nardis Jazz Club which is opened in 2002 and have been and will be the center of Turkish Jazz Music ever since.
