dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.

dc.description.abstractBu makale Türkiye Tarihi'nde siyasi ve hukuki anlamda önemli bir yer edinmiş olan Necdet Basa'nın hayat öyküsünü anlatmaktadır. Bu kapsamda Basa'nın gerek kişisel hayatı gerek ise bürokratik hayatı üzerinde ayrıntılı bir şekilde durulmakla birlikte bürokratik hayatı "Almanya'daki Hayatı" ve "Almanya'dan Türkiye'ye Döndükten Sonraki Hayatı" olarak ikiye ayrılarak incelenmektedir. Necdet Basa'nın Almanya'da bulunduğu dönemin özellikleri, Almanya'da yaptığı görevler, Almanya'ya yapılan Türk işçi göçünün döneme ve Basa'nın görevlerine etkisi "Almanya'daki Hayatı" başlığı altındayken gerek siyasi hayata girişi ve onu etkileyen faktörler gerek ise siyaset dışındaki çalışmaları "Almanya'dan Türkiye'ye Döndükten Sonraki Hayatı" başlığı altında ele alınmaktadır.
dc.description.abstractThis article refers to the life of Necdet Basa who has an important role in Turkish History in terms of his bureaucratic and legal attempts. In this context, both Basa's personal life and bureaucratic life are included as well as his political life is examined separately as "His Life in Germany" and "His Life After He Came Back to Turkey". The features of that era's Germany, Basa's servings there, the effects of Turkish workers' migration are the subtitles of "His Life in Germany" while the start of his political life and his works other than politics are the subtitles of "His Life After He Came Back to Turkey".
