dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.en_US

dc.description.abstractTürk Kütüphaneciliği (eski ismiyle Türk Kütüphaneciler Derneği Bülteni), Türk Kütüphaneciler Derneği’nin 1952’den bu yana her yıl dört defa olmak üzere yayımladığı; hakemli, dizinli, bilimsel ve mesleki yazılar yayımlayan bir dergidir. Bu makalede, Türk Kütüphaneciler Derneği’nin misyonundan kısaca bahsedilecektir. Türk Kütüphaneciliği dergisinde yıllar içinde gerçekleşen değişimlere ve bu değişimlerin dergiye katkılarına yer verilecektir. Türkiye’deki kütüphanecilik anlayışının geçmişteki ve günümüzdeki durumundan ve Türk Kütüphaneciliği dergisinin bu anlayışın gelişimindeki rolünden söz edilecektir. Makalede, dergiye katkıda bulunan kişilere yer verilecektir. Türk Kütüphaneciliği dergisi hakkında daha ayrıntılı bilgi edinmek için Ali Fuat Kartal, Türk Kütüphaneciler Derneği genel başkanı, ile röportaj yapılmıştır ve bu röportajda edinilen bilgiler makalenin yazımında kullanılmıştır.en_US
dc.description.abstractTürk Kütüphaneciliği (formerly named as Türk Kütüphaneciler Derneği Bülteni) is the journal that the Turkish Librarians Association is publishing since 1952, four times a year, containing peer-reviewed, indexed, scientific and academic articles. In this article, the mission of the association will be addressed. It will also contain the changes in the Türk Kütüphaneciliği journal over years and their contribution to the journal. Another subject that will be presented in this article is the perspectives on librarianship in the past and present in Turkey and the role of Türk Kütüphaneciliği journal in improving this perspective. This journal will mention the important authors that contributed to this article. To get more detailed information about Türk Kütüphaneciliği journal, an interview with Ali Fuat Kartal, the head of the Turkish Librarians Association is done, and the information obtained is used in the article.en_US
