dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.

dc.description.abstractMine Göğüş Tan lise eğitimini Amerika'da tamamladıktan sonra Ankara Üniversitesi Hukuk Fakültesinden mezun oldu. Cambridge Üniversitesi'nde misafir öğretim üyeliği yapıp Washington State Üniversitesi'nde sosyoloji yüksek lisansını tamamladı. Turgut Tan ise Kabataş Erkek Lisesi ve ardından Ankara Üniversitesi Siyasal Bilgiler Fakültesinden mezun olduktan sonra yüksek lisansını Fransa'da tamamladı. 1982 Anayasası Danışma Meclisi üyeliği ve Başbakanlık Danışmanlığı yaptı. Bilkent Üniversitesi Hukuk Fakültesini kurdu ve dekanlığını da yaptı.
dc.description.abstractAfter completing her high school education in United States Mine Göğüş Tan graduated from Ankara University Law Department. She was a guest teacher at Cambridge University then she completed her master's degree in Sociology at Washington State University. Turgut Tan graduated from Kabataş Erkek High School and Ankara University Political Science Department then he went on to France to complete his master's degree. He was a member of the 1982 Constitution Advisory Council and he performed as a consultant for the Prime Minister. He founded the Bilkent University Law Department and served as the first dean.
