dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.en_US

dc.description.abstractBu makalede genel anlamda 1950 seçimleri yani DP’nin kurulması ile birlikte çok partili hayata geçiş süreci incelenecektir. Bununla birlikte, çok partili yaşama geçişin nedenleri, DP’nin kurulma süreci ve 27 yıllık CHP’nin iktidarı kaybetme nedenleri üzerinde de durulacaktır. Bu bağlamda CHP’nin 1950 seçimlerini kaybetmesinde büyük rol oynayan Varlık Vergisi, savaş dönemi tarafsızlık politikasının etkileri, Çiftçiyi Topraklandırma Kanunu gibi başlıklara da yer verilecek, konu başlıkları çeşitli görseller üzerinden incelenecektir.en_US
dc.description.abstractThis article will generally examine the 1950 elections, that is, the transition to multi-party life with the establishment of DP. In addition, the reasons for the transition to multi-party life, the establishment process of the DP and the reasons for the 27-year-old CHP to lose power will also be discussed. In this context, titles such as the Wealth Tax, which played a major role in the CHP's loss of the 1950 elections, the effects of the wartime neutrality policy, the Law on Landing the Farmers will also be included, and the subject headings will be examined through various images.en_US
