dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.

dc.description.abstractTürkiye’nin ata sporu olarak görülen güreş aynı zamanda olimpiyatlarda ve şampiyonalarda Türkiye’nin en iddialı olduğu spor dallarından biridir. Sümer Koçak da nesilden nesile aktarılan bir güreş geleneğine ait ailenin çocuğu olarak, çocukluğundan beri başarılar elde etmiş Türk milli ve olimpik güreşçidir. Sümer Koçak 1984 ve 1988 olimpiyatlarına katılmış, faal spor hayatını sonlandırdığı 1990 yılı itibariyle spor hayatına eğitimci olarak devam etmiştir.
dc.description.abstractWrestling, which is perceived as the ancestor sport of Turkey, is also one of the sports where Turkey is assertive in the olympics and championships. Sümer Koçak, the Turkish national and olympic wrestler, who is the son of a family with the tradition of wrestling inherited through generations, has acquired many successes since childhood. He participated in 1984 and 1988 Olympics, and continued his sports life in the training part after he finished his active sports life in 1990.
