dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.en_US

dc.description.abstractKazım Taymaz Köy çocukları Eğitim Derneğinin kurucusudur. Taymaz, hem kendi eğitim hayatında yaşadığı zorluklar hem de öğretmen olarak çalışırken gördüğü imkansızlıklar sonucunda eğitim almaya gücü yetmeyen öğrencilere yardım etme kararı aldı. Birçok öğrenciye evinin kapısını açtı ve eğitimlerine katkı sağladı. öğrenci sayısının artmasıyla tek başına bütün öğrencilerin ihtiyaçlarını karşılayamamaya başladı ve Köy çocukları Eğitim Derneğini kurdu ve dernek bünyesinde 2500 kadar öğrencinin meslek sahibi olmasını sağladı. Yürüttüğü çalışmalar sayesinde pek çok kurum ve kuruluşlardan ödüller aldı.2010 yılında ise Taymaz hayatını kaybetti. Kazım Taymaz’ın vefatından sonra da bıraktığı fikirlerinin ışığında birçok kurum ve kuruluş Taymaz’ın mirasını sürdürmektedir.en_US
dc.description.abstractKazım Taymaz is the founder of Köy çocukları Eğitim Derneği. Taymaz decided to help students who could not afford to be educated as a result of the difficulties he experienced in his education and the hardships he had seen while working as a teacher.Taymaz hosted many students at his home and he supported them to get a good education. With the increase in the number of students, Taymaz was unable to meet the needs of all students and established the Köy çocukları Eğitim Derneği which enabled about 2500 students to have a job. He received awards from many institutions. Taymaz died in 2010. After he died, many foundation keep his ideas alive with their organizations.en_US
