In this paper, the problem of estimating the impulse responses of individual nodes in a network of nodes is dealt. It was shown by the previous work in literature that when the nodes can interact with each other, fusion based adaptive filtering approaches are more effective than handling nodes independently. Here we are proposing the use of entropy functional based optimization in the adaptive filtering stage. We tested the new method on networks under Gaussian and ε-contaminated Gaussian noise. The results show that the proposed method achieves significant improvements in the error rates in case of ε-contaminated noise. © 2012 IEEE.

Automatic detection of compound structures by joint selection of region groups from a hierarchical segmentation Akçay, H. G.; Aksoy S. (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, 2016)A challenging problem in remote sensing image analysis is the detection of heterogeneous compound structures such as different types of residential, industrial, and agricultural areas that are composed of spatial arrangements ...
Interpretation of the space-bandwidth product as the entropy of distinct connection patterns in multifacet optical interconnection architectures Ozaktas Haldun, M.; Brenner, K.-H.; Lohmann Adolf W. (1993)We show that the entropy of the distinct connection patterns that are possible with multifacet optical interconnection architectures is approximately equal to the space-bandwidth product of the optical system.
