dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.en_US

dc.description.abstractKonumu itibarı ile geçmiş yıllardan beri göçlere açık bir yer olma özelliği taşıyan Gökçeada’da bulunan ve hatta adanın en büyük köyü olma özelliğini taşıyan Dereköy adlı köyün nüfusunda zaman içerisinde çeşitli sebeplerden dolayı değişimler görülmüştür. Dereköy, zaman içerisinde çeşitli sebeplerden dolayı bu özelliğini yitirerek, adeta bir hayalet köy haline gelmiştir. Bu çalışmada Dereköy’ün yıllara bağlı nüfus değişimleri ve bu değişimlerin sebepleri incelenmekte olup aynı zamanda bu köyün bazı önemli özelliklerine yer verilmektedir.en_US
dc.description.abstractDue to its location, the population of Dereköy, which is located in Gökçeada, which has been a place open to migration since the past years and even has the feature of being the biggest village of the island, has changed in time due to various reasons. Dereköy has lost this feature due to various reasons over time and has become a ghost village. In this study, the population changes of Dereköy over the years and the reasons for these changes are examined, and also some important features of this village are included.en_US
