dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.

dc.description.abstractAnkara’da bir zamanlar gençlerin gözdesi olan fakat çok acı bir şekilde kapanan efsane diye adlandırılacak nitelikte bir mekan vardı: Eski Limon Bar. 90’lı yılların sonunda bilindik eğlence hayatına yeni bir soluk getirmiş olan ve günümüzdeki ünlü grupların ilk sahne aldığı bir yer olan Eski Limon Bar maalesef beklenmedik bir olay ile kapılarını bir daha açılmamak üzere kapatmak zorunda kaldı. Eski Limon Bar’ın işletme müdürünün karışmış olduğu kavga dört kişinin yaşamını yitirdiği bir cinayete dönüştüğünden dolayı bu olay Eski Limon Bar’ın efsane olarak akıllarda kalmasını sağlayacak bir kapanış sürecine sürükledi. Bu çalışmada röportajlar ve araştırmalar yardımıyla Limon Bar’ın açıldığından itibaren elde ettiği ün ve nasıl bu kadar müdavimi olunan bir yer haline geldiği, bunların dışında beklenmedik ve trajik bir şekilde kapatılış sürecinden ve bunun sonuçlarından bahsedilmiştir.
dc.description.abstractIn Ankara, there was a place that was once a favorite for young people but closed in a very painful way. At the end of the 90s, Limon Bar, a place that brought new breaths into the well known entertainment life and today's famous bands took the stage, unfortunately, had to close its doors with an unexpected event. Limon Bar's business manager has been involved in a fight that killed 4 people because of the murder of this event Limon Bar as a legend that will lead to a closing process has dragged. As a result of the interviews and researches conducted in this study, it has been stated how Limon Bar has gained its reputation since the day it was opened, how it has become such a regular place with its unexpected and tragic closing process and its results.
