dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.

dc.description.abstract10 Kasım 1953’te Atatürk’ün naaşının Etnografya Müzesi’nden Anıtkabir’e aktarımı sırasında Atatürk’ün Gençliğe Hitabesi’ni okuyan çocuk olan Eriş Ülger aynı zamanda Sabiha Gökçen ve Salih Bozok’un oğlu Cemil Salih Bozok’un manevi evladıdır. Hayatının büyük bir kısmını Atatürk üzerine çalışmalar yaparak geçiren Eriş Ülger, Sabiha Gökçen ve Cemil Salih Bozok’tan kendisine kalan Atatürk’ün sahip olduğu birçok eşya ve fotoğraf mevcuttur ve bunlar İzmir’de Büyük Dâhi Gazi Mustafa Kemal sergisinde sergilenmektedir. Ayrıca Eriş Ülger’in bugüne kadar kaleme aldığı otuzdan fazla kitap mevcuttur.
dc.description.abstractOn the 10th of November 1953, the child who read Atatürk's Address to the Turkish Youth during the transfer of Atatürk's body from the Ethnography Museum to the Mausoleum, Eriş Ülger, was adopted by Sabiha Gökçen and Cemil Salih Bozok who was the son of Atatürk's friend Salih Bozok. Eriş Ülger spent a great part of his life to studying and researching Atatürk's life. He has a lot of staff and pictures of Atatürk from his stand-in parents Sabiha Gökçen and Cemil Salih Bozok and they are exhibited at the Great Genius Gazi Mustafa Kemal exhibition in Izmir. Moreover, Eriş Ülger has more than thirty books that he wrote until today.
