Kahveye kanın karıştığı gün: 10 Ağustos 1978 Balgat Katliamı

10 Ağustos 1978 yılında Türkiye’nin içinde bulunduğu siyasi ve sosyal çatışmalar sonucunda Balgat Katliamı ile halk büyük bir olaya şahit olmuştur. Makalede bu katliam ve olayın tarafları hakkında ön bilgilerle birlikte tanıkların ve mahallenin olay sonrası sosyal ve politik yapısı araştırılacak. Bunların yanında yaralılar ve vefat edenlerin ailelerinin birinci elden beyanlarıyla yaşananlar ve sonrasında bu olayın onların yaşamlarında bıraktığı etkiler, objektif kaynakların da yardımıyla bir üst bakışla incelenmeye çalışılacaktır. Ulusal çapta ses getiren ve ideoloji temelli kavgaların sembollerinden biri haline gelmiş bu büyük olay, “ölü ve yaralı sayıları” ve siyasi temelinden ziyade “küçük” insanların hayatlarında ve yaşandığı yerin sosyal, ekonomik ve siyasi kültüründe bıraktığı etkileri temele alınarak değerlendirilecektir.

On August 10, 1978, because of the political and social conflicts in Turkey, the people witnessed a great event with the Balgat Massacre. In the article, the social and political structure of the witnesses and the neighborhood after the event will be investigated, along with preliminary information about the massacre and the parties to the event. In addition to these, what happened with the first-hand statements of the families of the injured and the deceased and the effects of this event on their lives will be tried to be examined with the help of objective sources. It is researched and evaluated this great event, which has become one of the symbols of nationally resounding and ideology-based fights, based on the "numbers of dead and injured" and the effects it left on the lives of "small" people and the social, economic and political culture of the place where they live, rather than on its political basis.
