dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.

dc.description.abstractErol Ağakay 3684 adet Yeşilçam filminin afişini basmış, bunların yaklaşık 1900'ünün afişini de bizzat tasarlamış bir sanatçıdır. Bu dönemde İstanbul'da oyuncuların fotoğrafını çektiği bir fotoğraf stüdyosu ve kendi tasarladığı film afişlerini bastırdığı bir baskı şirketi (Mimeray) kurmuştur. Sonrasında Yeşilçam sinemasının sona ermesi ile şirketini billboard, pano ve bina giydirme gibi alanlara yönlendirmiştir ve hâlen bu alanda çalışmaya devam etmektedir.
dc.description.abstractErol Ağakay is an artist who has printed 3684 Yeşilçam films and designed approximately 1900 of them in person. During this period, he established a photography studio in Istanbul where he took photographs of actors and a printing company (Mimeray), where he printed his own film posters. Later, following the end of Yeşilçam cinema, he canalized his company to fields such as billboard, panel and building facade advertisement and he still continues to work in these fields.
