dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.

dc.description.abstractSon 50 yılın duayen fotoğrafçılarından biri olan Ara Güler, Türkiye'nin sınırlarını aşarak ismini dünyada da duyurmuştur. Kendisini sanatçı olarak nitelendirmeyen Ara Güler, gazeteci ve foto muhabir olarak fotoğraf çektiği için profesyonelliğini hiç bırakmamış ve her zaman gerçekleri yansıtmıştır. Ara Güler'in bu fotoğrafçılık serüveninde iş yönelimini değiştiren önemli kırılma noktaları yaşamıştır.Dünyayı gezerek gördüğü her şeyi kamera yoluyla yansıttı. Dünyaca ünlü isimlerle röportajlar yaptı. Yaptığı çalışmalar sadece sanatsal değer taşımakla kalmadı, aynı zamandan tarihsel açıdan da büyük bir yere sahip oldu.
dc.description.abstractOne of the veteran photographer of the last 50 years, Ara Güler, has announced his name in the world. of the border crossing Ara Güler, who did not call himself an artist, never gave up his professionalism and always reflected the facts which he took photographs as a journalist and photojournalist. In this photography adventure of Ara Güler, he experienced important breaking points that changed his work orientation.While traveling around the world he reflected everything he saw through the camera. He made interviews with world-renowned names, and he got involved in the minds of important people. His work not only has artistic value, but also has been a big part for historically aspect.
