Talas köyünün ilçe oluşu ve Talas’ın önemi

Talas, günümüzde Kayseri’nin beş merkez ilçesinden biridir. Tarihi 4000 yıl öncesine dayanan Talas, bu tarihsel dokusunu ve beraberinde gelen önemini hâlâ korumaktadır. Roma, Bizans, Selçuklular ve Osmanlı gibi pek çok uygarlıktan izler barındırır. Vaktinde barındırdığı Türk, Rum ve Ermeni nüfusu sayesinde zengin bir kültür hazinesine sahiptir. Önemini ve zenginliğini koruyan Talas; tarihsel önemi, kültürel zenginliği, barındırdığı kurum ve kuruluşlar ve Milli Mücadele’deki rolü ile önemini pekiştirdi, gelişimini sürdürdü. Bu gelişmeler neticesinde ilçe oldu. İlçe olmasıyla hem kendi bünyesinde değişiklikler meydana geldi, hem sakinlerinin profilleri değişti hem de etrafındaki ilçe ve hatta illeri etkiledi. Günümüz itibari ile nüfusu 170 bini bulmuş durumdadır ve Kayseri’nin en zengin ilçesidir. Barındırdığı kültürel çeşitlilik, arkeolojik zenginlik ve sunduğu fırsatlarla, başlıca eğitim, dikkat çekmektedir.

Talas is one of the five central districts of Kayseri. With its nearly 4000 years old history, Talas still preserves its historical ambiance and significance. You can see signs of civilizations, such as; the Roman Empire, Byzantium, the Seljuk Empire and the Ottoman Empire. Talas has a rich cultural identity thanks to its multi-ethnical structure composed by Turks, Greeks and Armenians in the past. Talas continued its development via its historical importance, cultural richness, establishments and its crucial role in the War of Independence, as well as, maintaining its significance. This elements helped Talas to become a district. Becoming a district resulted in changes in itself, population profile and other cities and districts nearby. Today, Talas has a population of 170 thousand residents and is the richest district of Kayseri. Its cultural diversity, archeological richness and opportunities, especially in education, draws attention towards Talas.
