Cumalıkızık Köyü

Cumalıkızık Bursa yakınlarında kurulmuş, tarihi Bizans İmparatorluğuna dayanan UNESCO koruması altında bir köydür. Adını çeşitli kaynaklara göre bölgedeki ilk camiye sahip olan köy olmasından ve bir ağanın kızlarına dağıttığı çeşitli köylerden biri olmasından aldığı rivayet edilir. Kurtuluş Savaşı sırasında Yunan saldırılarına maruz kalmış, işgalci kuvvetler köyde yıkım ve katliamlara sebep olmuş, bu olaylar resmi kaynaklarda yerini almıştır. Mimari yapısıyla da başlı başına bir sanatsal ve tarihi eser olarak kabul edilen Cumalıkızık; taş ve kerpiçten yapılan, mahremiyete önem verdiği kadar mahalle sıcaklığını da koruyan, halkı dış tehditlere karşı çevreleyen, rengârenk evleriyle ünlüdür.

Cumalıkızık is a UNESCO-protected village that's origin is based on the historic Byzantine Empire, located near Bursa. According to various sources, the name of the Village comes from the first mosque in the region and the village being distributed to one of the girls of a Pasha. In the transition to the Republican period, the Greek forces were subjected to attacks and the occupying forces caused destruction and massacres in the village and these events took their place in the official sources. Cumalıkızık, which is considered as an artistic and historical monument with its architectural structure; It is famous for its colorful houses, made of stone and mud brick, which protects the neighborhood as much as its attaches importance to privacy and surrounds the people against external threats.
