dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.en_US

dc.description.abstractKolonya, Osmanlı döneminden beri Türk kültürünün bir parçası olmuştur. Cumhuriyet‟in ilanından sonra da değişerek ve gelişerek ama aynı zamanda da özünde hep aynı kalan kolonyanın Türk kültüründeki yeri, Rüyam Kolonya‟nın alışılmışın dışında kolonyaları ve Sakarya‟nın endüstriyel gelişimine katkıları çerçevesinde incelenmiştir. Bu araştırmada, daha önce yapılan diğer araştırmalar, yazılan tezler, bloglar, haberler ve Rüyam Kolonya‟nın sahibi Murat Kılıç ile yapılan röportajda edinilen bilgiler ve belgeler doğrultusunda Rüyam Kolonya‟nın Sakarya‟ya, Türkiye‟ye ve kolonya kültürüne katkıları gün yüzüne çıkarılmıştır.
dc.description.abstractSince the Ottoman era, cologne has been a part of the Turkish culture. The everchanging and evolving yet essentially unaltering cologne‟s spot in the Turkish culture has been analyzed through Rüyam Kolonya‟s unorthodox colognes and its contribution in the industrial development of Sakarya. By means of the knowledge and documents that are acquired through previous research, theses, blogs, news and the interview with Murat Kılıç, the owner of Rüyam Kolonya, this research has unearthed Rüyam Kolonya‟s contributions to Sakarya, Turkey and cologne culture.
