Rize'nin Hemşin köyünde yaşayan Sırt Ailesinin erkekleri, 1890 tarihinden itibaren ekonomik nedenlerle, iş imkanı bulmak üzere Rusya'ya göç etmişlerdir. Ailenin Rusya'ya giden ilk üyesi İbrahim Efendi ve ardından giden diğer Sırt Ailesi üyeleri burada fırınlarda çalışıp pastacılık işini öğrenmişlerdir. 1917 devriminden sonra Türkiye'ye dönen aile üyeleri önce Rize'de tarımla uğraşmış fakat geçim zorlukları çektikleri için İstanbul'a göç etme kararı almışlardır. Şu an imalathane olarak devam etmektedirler.en_US
The Sırt Family, who had lived in Hemşin village of Rize, immigrated to Russia in 1890 for monetary reasons to track down new opportunities. The first member of the family who went to Russia, Mr.İbrahim followed by the other members of the Sırt Family, worked in bakeries there and learned the pastry business. Returning to Turkey after the 1917 Bolshevik Revolution, the family first dealt with agriculture in Rize, however, went to Istanbul because of financial difficulties. Mehmet Sırt opened Kars patisserie in Kadıköy in the same year that they came back to Turkey, 1917. Later on, Denizatı Patisserie in Ankara was the last patisserie run by the members of the Sırt Family, who made pastry in Istanbul, Ankara, and even Poland.en_US
