| dc.description | The History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards. | en_US |

| dc.description.abstract | Bu çalışmada, 25 Haziran 1993 tarihinde, İnönü Stadyumu’nda gerçekleştirilmiş olan Metallica konseri hakkında araştırma yapıldı. Araştırma kapsamında öncelikle metal müziğin dünyadaki ilk örneklerinden yola çıkarak Türkiye’ye nasıl geldiği incelendi ve Türkiye’deki ilk örnekleri anlatıldı. Türkiye’nin o dönemdeki siyasi yapısı ve halkın metal müziğe karşı tutumu araştırıldı. Konser sırasında gerçekleşenler, seyircilerin ve yayın organlarının ağzından anlatıldı. Metallica konseri sonrası Türkiye’deki metal müziğe karşı tutum incelendi. Kitaplar ve dergi haberleri başta olmak üzere, yazılı ve sözlü kaynaklardan yararlanılarak araştırma tamamlandı. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | This article examines the Metallica concert that was held in İnönü Stadium on June 25, 1993. Within the scope of this research, the arrival of metal music to Turkey was examined and the first examples of metal music in Turkey was explained based on their counterparts around the world. Turkey's political structure at that time and people's attitudes towards metal music was explored. What happened during the concert was described from the perspective of the audience and the media. Attitudes towards metal music in Turkey were examined after the Metallica concert. The research was completed by making use of written and oral sources, mainly books and magazine news. | en_US |
