dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.

dc.description.abstractÇalışır ailesinin Bulgaristan‟dan 1951 yılında dönemin komünist Yunan hükümetinin baskıları ile Bursa‟ya zorunlu olarak göçü gerçekleşmiştir. Bulgaristan‟da da lokanta işleten Çalışır ailesinin yolunun İskenderoğlu Ailesi ve İskender kebapla çakışması sonucu yaşanan süreç, Cemal ve Cemil Çalışır‟ın kendi markalarını yaratma isteği ile kurdukları Uludağ Kebapçısı dükkânı altında İskender kebapla özleşen fakat tarifi ile yeni bir lezzet olan Bursa kebabının doğuşuna öncülük etmiştir.
dc.description.abstractThe Calisir family migrated from Bulgaria to Bursa in 1951 under the pressure of the communist Greek government of that period. The process that occurred as a result of the coincidence of Iskenderoglu family and Iskender kebab in the way of Calisir Family who run a restaurant in Bulgaria, is the birth of Bursa kebab which is a new flavor with the recipe of Iskender kebab under the Uludag Turnspit established by Cemal and Cemil Calisir with the desire to create their own brands.
