Bir Türk Devrimi Projesi: Nazilli Sümerbank Basma Fabrikası

Nazilli Sümerbank Basma Fabrikası 9 Ekim 1937'de Mustafa Kemal Atatürk tarafından bizzat açıldı. Çalıştığı yıllarda Nazilli çevresinin kalkınmasını ve Türkiye'de tekstil sektörünün gelişmesini sağladı. Çalışanlarına sağladığı imkanlarla örnek olarak gösterilen bir proje oldu. İlerleyen yıllarda teknolojisinin geri kalması ve Türkiye'deki özelleştirme çalışmaları sebebiyle marketle rekabet etmekte zorlandığı için giderek küçüldü. 2002 yılında kapatılıp bedelsiz olarak Adnan Menderes Üniversitesine devredildiğinde 19.000 çalışanı emekli etmişti. Günümüzde fabrikayı yeniden açmak için girişimler devam etmekte. Bu çalışmada fabrikanın kuruluşu, başarılı yıllarında Türkiye'ye katkıları, gerileme süreci ve günümüzdeki durumu ele alınmıştır

Nazilli Sümerbank Print-Textile Factory was opened in 9 October 1937 by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk himself. During the years it was operating, the factory contributed to the development of Nazilli and the textile industry in Turkey. The opportunities provided by the factory for its employees were exemplary. However, in the advancing years, the factory gradually shrank, since the technology of the machines became obsolete and it had difficulty competing in the market due to the privatization progamme in Turkey. By the time it was closed and transferred to Adnan Menderes University without charge in 2002, the factory had retired over 19,000 employees. Today, the attempts to reopen the factory are continuing. In this study, the establishment of the factory, its contributions to Turkey in its successful years, its regression process and its current condition are investigated.
