dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.

dc.description.abstractBu makale 90’lı yıllarda kadın doktorların toplumdaki yerini Prof. Dr. Güzide Aydın’ın deneyimlerinden yola çıkarak incelemektedir. Kadın doktorların toplumdaki yerini anlamak için öncelikle Cumhuriyet tarihinde ilk tıp fakültesinin açılması ve kadın doktorların ne zaman eğitim almaya başladığı incelenecektir. Makale kapsamında 90’lı yıllarda doktorluk yapan Prof. Dr. Güzide Aydın ile deneyimlerini konuşmak için röportaj yapıldı. Bu çalışma Türkiye’de tıpta toplumsal cinsiyet eşitliğine, Türkiye’de sağlık hizmetlerinde kadın doktorun rolüne ve 90’lı yıllarda Türk kadın doktorlarla ilgili haberlere ve Türkiye’deki kadın doktorlar üzerinden çalışma yapılmış makalelere odaklanmaktadır.
dc.description.abstractThis article examines women doctors' place in society in the 90s. To understand the place of women doctors in society, the opening of the first faculty of medicine and the timeline of when women doctors started to be accepted to the faculty of medicine are examined. Within the scope of this article, Prof. Dr. Güzide Aydın, who worked as a doctor in the 90s was interviewed to talk about her experiences. The study focuses on gender equality in medicine, the role of women doctors in health services in Turkey, news related to Turkish women doctors in the 90s, and articles that have been studied about Turkish women doctors.
